Ageing
Population
2012
With significant change taking place across the health and social care sectors, Ageing Population 2012 is a must attend event for those involved in the policy, delivery and supply of care services to the UK's ageing population. By 2035 the number of people aged 85 or older is projected to be 2.5 times larger than in 2010, reaching approximately 3.6 million and constituting 5% of the population.
The Health and Social Care Act looks to better integrate health and social care, reform commissioning and enhance competition; alongside this, The Dilnot Commission has made recommendations for funding reform, the role of the Care Quality Commission is being developed and the Department of Health expects to release the Care and Support White Paper in the coming months. Alongside this, a drive for localism means more care services will be commissioned and delivered though partnership working between local authorities, health services and providers. By working together in more effective way, the Government hopes that the ageing population will be able to live more independent, healthier lives.
Our 5th annual Ageing Population will build on 4 years of successful discussion, debate and interaction between all stakeholders, providing delegates with key policy insights, numerous best practice case studies and unrivalled networking opportunities.
